Ideas for your post.. Update Day 5 - Captain It’s been 5 days since Captain arrived. While the pictures don’t lie he is a beautiful husky that wants to be by your side. It’s not all unicorns and rainbows. What you don’t see while we work tirelessly to help him get healthy, The Giardia he came with that causes explosive diaherra and lack of interest in food. An expensive culture and now vet care for these findings . Severe separation anxiety & extreme shelter stress that he developed in ACC for 2 months. A special crate has been order so he can’t escape and hurt himself. Captain will remain on the meds he came with while we try and convince him it’s ok we aren’t abandoning him like his former family did. The costs for saving a life is not cheap!!! Captain, a two-year-old husky mix rescued from New York City found on the streets dumped by previous owner. Captain was in a high kill, shelter, marked urgent kill list due to his separation anxiety!! Captain was transported from New York city to St Michaels Maryland tranquilized with trazodone and then I was given a bottle of trazodone. We are working extremely hard to wean him off being tranquilized with a transition from shelter life. We can’t blame him for being anxious. Stay tuned for more of his journey. He is an incredibly sweet dog and deserved better and now better is here to stay.♥️

Captain the rescued husky mix from New York City animal shelter on the urgent kill list. Captain arrived on the farm with a bottle of trazodone for his horrible, separation anxiety after being dumped twice on New York City streets. Captain will scratch and pull the average crate down, but hurt himself in the interim. He is a really sweet, friendly dog but doesn’t want someone to dump him ever again. Please keep your animals if you’re going to take an animal on never dump it it’s like dumping a child.🙏🏻🐶 stay tuned for more adventure in his journey of recovery. His stomach is not worrying about who’s gonna leave him next, but it won’t be us.🥰

Captain the two year old Husky mix was on the kill list for today !!!! We stepped up and rescued him. He needs some serious TLC. Separation anxiety. He has been let down too many times by humans. As you see I am still in a boot with a broken foot. Any dog walkers out there ? ♥️

Busy day today Midnight in Paris had X-rays of front hooves. She was sore and so we wanted to check and make sure she didn’t have laminitis. She does have some rotation but it was old. So a flare up. Blood taken to make sure she doesn’t have a metabolic problem.🙏🏻

Poor Calais haz a very painful Abscess

Today Calais was holding up his hind right hoof in pain. It has been so muddy out He has an abscess I soaked him in Epson salt, then wrapped him and poultice. Calais is on SMZs and Bute 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
